Reports To: Library Services Coordinator
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Library Services Coordinator, the Public Services Librarian connects the IVCC campus community to information resources. The Public Services Librarian oversees Jacobs Library circulation, resource sharing, collection maintenance, and reference services. As the lead for public services, the librarian will manage all student employees and coordinate front desk operations. As a member of the librarian team, the Public Services Librarian will participate in the instruction and outreach programs at Jacobs Library.
Qualifications: Required: 1. ALA-accredited Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent is required. 2. Familiarity with best practices for reference and user services is required. 3. Library circulation or resource sharing experience is preferred. 4. Library reference or instruction experience is preferred. 5. Supervisory experience preferred. 6. Experience working with and supporting diverse populations preferred. 7. Experience using ExLibris’ Alma ILS or other integrated library systems including system configuration preferred. 8. Experience using Springshare LibApps or other library software preferred.
