Position Summary: Under general supervision of the dean and according to division and/or College procedures and Board policy, the division administrative assistant performs organizing, coordinating, and reporting activities as they relate to the day-to-day functions of the Workforce Development division office. This position also provides support with grant-related activities. The administrative assistant is responsible for providing quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent professional office management experience; one to three years of office experience preferred, which includes the performance of clerical and secretarial duties requiring discretion and independent judgment; proficiency at the intermediate level in computer use, including: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher), Outlook email and Internet; ability to handle multiple details, organize, and prioritize work; strong written and verbal communication skills, including appropriate use of grammar and spelling; ability to take and prepare meeting minutes; ability to work cooperatively with students, administration, faculty, community members and staff; and ability to collaborate and coordinate the work of others required. Associate's Degree in Office Technology or its equivalent; completion of additional computer/business courses at the college level; supervisory experience; knowledge of community college programs and services; previous secretarial experience at a college or university; knowledge of Colleague/Ellucian system or similar system; and knowledge in Content Management System (or comparable web design software) for web page design, creation, and editing preferred.
