    Job Summary:  IVCC anticipates filling this full-time, tenure track position to begin August, 2025. Teach and assess student learning outcomes in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education courses.  Develop and promote curriculum designed both as transfer courses to four-year colleges/universities, and applied degree programs.  In collaboration with colleagues, be responsible for ongoing curriculum evaluation and improvement within the context of IVCC’s general education philosophy.  Facilitate student learning outside of the classroom through participation in student activities, college, and community events; and assist with student recruitment.

    Qualifications:  Minimum Requirements:  Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college/university OR Master’s degree in an Education program and 18 graduate credit hours in Early Childhood Education required; previous teaching experience at any level; demonstrated commitment to the mission of the community college; ability to teach courses in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education; knowledge of or experience with Illinois Teacher Licensure, Gateways Credentials, Illinois Professional Educator Standards (IPES), and NAEYC Professional Standards and Competencies; knowledge of or experience with Child Care programs, Preschool for All, Head Start, Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) licensing regulations, etc.; ability to teach courses in a variety of formats (In-Person, Day-Time, Evening, Online, and Dual Credit) and at various locations (main campus, extension campus, high school and dual credit locations); ability to travel to student practicum observation sites within the district.
