Description:  Health Professions Laboratory and Simulation Instructor, Part Time

Salary Range:  Per the Guidelines to Part-Time Faculty Employment, $32.25 per hour

Position Summary:  Working in collaboration with the Nursing Laboratory Coordinator, provide direction to and assist health professions students in the simulation, computer and skills laboratories.  In collaboration with the nursing faculty provide guidance to individual students in need of remediation or developmental assistance related to nursing skills and procedures.  Help coordinate and organize Nursing Skills and Nursing Simulation Labs.  Facilitate student learning outside the classroom through participation in student activities, college and community events.  Under the direction of the Nursing Lab Coordinator, is responsible for healthcare contextualized learning and retention.  The lab instructor facilitates students' use of tutors and the academic support center as well as collaborates with student services for additional assistance outside the division.  Helps coordinate and organize remediation for returning students, prepares reports for evaluation by  members of the Division of Health Professions, as needed.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university
• Minimum two years of clinical nursing practice
• Eligible or currently licensed to practice nursing in the state of Illinois
• Computer expertise
• Certification or eligibility to seek certification in simulation through an accredited agency
