Grow Spring Valley Announces Pop-Up Cooking Class with Chef Sara to Support Community Garden

Spring Valley, IL – Grow Spring Valley is excited to announce Cooking with Chef Sara of Chef Fitzyour Palate, a special pop-up cooking class taking place on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Julie Rutgens Taliani Community Garden.

All proceeds from the event will directly support the Community Garden, helping Grow Spring Valley cover expenses for the 2026 garden season. Contributions ensure the garden continues to provide fresh produce and a welcoming space for the community.

During the class, Chef Sara will showcase creative ways to make the most of your garden harvest, with fresh herbs and tomatoes taking the spotlight. Attendees will:

• Discover the differences between chimichurri sauce and pesto through tastings of both.
• Discover how to prepare a flavorful compound butter using fresh herbs.
• Master a simple, irresistible bruschetta recipe to enjoy at home.
