LaSalle County CASA Launches “Coffee with CASA” Community Outreach Initiative

LaSalle County, IL — LaSalle County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is launching a new community outreach initiative, Coffee with CASA, designed to give local residents an informal opportunity to learn more about how CASA supports children navigating the foster care system.

Coffee with CASA is a casual, drop-in event where community members can meet one-on-one with Lexi Wamhoff, Executive Director of LaSalle County CASA, ask questions, and explore ways to get involved. No registration or commitment is required.

“Our goal with Coffee with CASA is to remove barriers,” said Wamhoff. “Many people want to help but aren’t sure where to start. This is simply a conversation over coffee about how CASA advocates for children right here in our community.”

CASA volunteers are appointed by the court to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Advocates provide consistent, informed support for children as they move through the foster care system, often during one of the most challenging periods of their lives.

Coffee with CASA events will be held at local coffee shops throughout LaSalle County, making it easy for residents to stop by, learn more about the program, and ask questions in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

The first Coffee with CASA will be held on Saturday, February 21st at The Coffee Barn in Mendota from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Future event dates, times, and locations will be shared through LaSalle County CASA’s social media channels and website.

For more information about Coffee with CASA or to learn more about becoming a CASA volunteer, visit lasallecountycasa.org or follow LaSalle County CASA on social media.
