About Us

Prairie State Tractor LLC was formed in January 2021 with the merger of two well established John Deere dealerships in North Central Illinois, Holland and Sons, Inc. and Kelly Sauder Rupiper Equipment LLC. Prairie State Tractor is built on the history and expertise of these family owned dealerships while looking forward to creating a new legacy as one.

The former organization of Holland and Sons was first established in Mendota, IL in 1972 by Gary Holland. Since, Holland and Sons has acquired four additional dealership locations throughout Northern Illinois. The former entity of KSR Equipment began in 2003 with the merger of three long standing John Deere Dealerships in North Central Illinois: Gardner Sales & Service of Pontiac, IL, Sauder Implement of Streator, IL and Rupiper Equipment of Lacon, IL.

Today, Prairie State Tractor serves northern and central Illinois with eight full-service locations operating in Dixon, Freeport, Geneseo, Lacon, Mendota, Pontiac, Princeton and Streator. Mendota also serves as the corporate headquarters. The company employees over 200 people dedicated to providing the very best in sales, integrated solutions, parts and service for the full lineup of John Deere products. With an expansive equipment selection, parts availability, and focused specialists, we are confident we can meet your operation’s specific needs, from homeowners and landscapers to farmers and beyond.
