DOL Fiduciary Rule Changes & Your Retirement Program
DOL Fiduciary Rule Changes & Your Retirement Program
The DOL Fiduciary Rule (“Final Rule”) is set to go into effect on April 10th, 2017. The Final Rule is the first major change to the definition of a fiduciary since the original regulations for retirement plans were published in 1975 after ERISA was put to law.
The Final Rule will affect all plan sponsors in some way. The biggest impact will be how your plan’s vendor and financial advisor can deliver their services and provide advice to your participants. Failure to understand the changes could put your organization or plan participants at risk.
Come join us for breakfast to learn and discuss the new Fiduciary Standard, what constitutes “reasonable compensation”, the definition of a Best Interest Contact, and most importantly how the Final Rule will affect you.
We will also be discussing how to set up Employer Retirement plans, and strategies on ways to conserve Retirement funds once they are created.
Presenter: Molly Beer, MBA, of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. will be discussing the Final Rule with the group. She is a retirement plan specialist with Gallagher Retirement Services, and operates to the Fiduciary Standard. She has more than 13 years of experience in the Retirement Plan Industry, earned her BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University, and holds her MBA in Finance from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
