Area Wide Libraries' Food For Fines Week

Seven area libraries, IVCC, LaSalle, Mendota, Oglesby, Peru, Spring Valley and Putnam County, will sponsor an area-wide "Food for Fines" amnesty program benefiting area food pantries.  Libraries will accept canned or boxed nonperishable food donations for payment of overdue fines.  Each donated food item pays $1 in library fines, up to 25 items.  Donations will also be accepted for non overdue fines.  Items should be in their original packaging; damaged packaging, outdated food, or glass containers will not be accepted.
