Salary Range: Level 8, Non-exempt, $16.34 to $21.78 per hour, Full-Time
Position Summary: The Theater / Classroom AV Technician provides support for the College's Cultural Center and equipment. This includes creating or supervising lighting design, sound coordination, and theater technical support events and productions in the Cultural Center and sound support for events in the gymnasium, campus meeting rooms, and outdoors. When not working in the Cultural Center, this position will assist in supporting an installing other technology including computers, peripherals, classroom technologies, and audio-visual equipment.
Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in technical area—OR—an equivalent combination of education and experience; two years’ experience in computer support; broad knowledge of and practical experience with some combination of various software, operating systems, networked clients, hardware troubleshooting, and/or audio-visual systems; strong organizational, communication and training skills and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users; demonstrated customer relations experience and abilities required. Manual dexterity and physical ability to safely lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. frequently and transfer 75 lbs. occasionally; push carts weighing 350 lbs. occasionally as well as climb stairs and ladders, and walk 5-7 miles per shift. Bachelor's degree and experience with audio-visual control systems and theater sound/lighting preferred.
