Description: Payroll and Benefits Coordinator, Accounting Department, Full Time
Reports to: Controller
Salary Range: Salary contingent upon qualifications and experience; excellent benefits package
Position Summary: Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for approximately 375 employees and the administering of certain benefits for almost 200 employees. Help to ensure compliance with legal requirements, and proactively seek a thorough knowledge of policies, state and federal laws impacting payroll. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred, and three years of proven automated payroll system experience for a 300+ employer required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws; time management and organizational skills; proven excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills; high level of cooperation and professionalism; experience with Microsoft Office Apps with advanced Excel experience; and ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines required. CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification or other related certification; employee benefits and higher education experience preferred.
