Reports To: Collection Development and Access Librarian
Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience
Position Summary: Provide access to library information resources and provide service to the IVCC community. Perform circulation activities including registering borrowers, charging materials to user records, receiving returned materials, renewing materials, and circulating reserve items along with responding to basic reference questions and directional questions about the facilities, policies and procedures of Jacobs Library.
Maintain piece-level record keeping system for library collections via shared system; perform basic copy cataloging; prepare new materials for circulation; maintain catalog records for electronic resources; repair library items; prepare materials for special collections; perform catalog record cleanup; place and track new library materials orders and then receive and process new materials. Assist with management of social media.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; experience working in a library setting or similar environment; demonstrated proficiency using a variety of online information products and application software; excellent customer service and organizational skills with ability to maintain accurate, detailed records; financial recordkeeping experience; ability to multi-task and work in a team setting; and ability to lift up to 30 pounds in order to handle boxes of books and heavy carts required. Coursework in standard software applications and cataloging; experience with cataloging in an integrated library system and serving students and faculty in an academic library setting preferred.
