    Job Description
    Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor, Tenure TrackFor spring semester, January 2019.  IVCC is seeking an enthusiastic and flexible person to teach and assess student learning in the Emergency Medical Services programs. The successful candidate will serve as the program coordinator for the EMT-Paramedic, the EMT-Basic, and the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) programs. The program coordinator will be responsible for the assessment, development, coordination and evaluation of the educational component of EMS curriculum to meet established standards of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). In collaboration with colleagues, the candidate will strive for ongoing curriculum improvement within the context of IVCC’s general education philosophy and facilitate student learning outside of the classroom through participation in student activities, college, and community events.
    QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college/university; current Illinois Department of Public Health or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic licensure; current Illinois Department of Public Health EMS Lead Instructor licensure (or eligibility for); four years of field experience in pre-hospital emergency care; two years of documented teaching experience; instructor certification in one or more of the following: PHTLS/ITLS/AMLS/PALS/PEPP/BLS required.
