Financial Aid Reconciliation and Compliance Specialist, Full Time
SEARCH EXTENDED for Financial Aid Reconciliation and Compliance Specialist (Full Time, Level 8, Non-exempt): Under general supervision of the Director of Financial Aid, the Reconciliation and Compliance Specialist is primarily responsible for providing compliance oversight of the Department of Financial Aid & Veterans Affairs. This includes reviewing and updating departmental procedures to reflect current federal, state and institutional regulations; reconciliation of grant, loan, scholarship and military programs; training staff on the Colleague system, updating staff on changes in federal, state and institutional regulations and performing compliance audits. In addition, this position represents the financial aid department at various recruitment events.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or related experience; three years of direct work with reconciliation and compliance; ability to train employees on compliance issues; excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills; knowledge of ERP and effective use of the Microsoft Office Suite; availability to travel and ability to work a flexible schedule required. Direct experience reconciling financial aid grants and/or loan programs; extensive knowledge of Federal Title IV and Illinois financial aid regulations; and professional work experience in a community college environment preferred.
