Salary Range: Salary commensurate with education and experience; Grant Funded, ending June 2024; excellent benefits package included.
Position Summary: The grant funded Early Childhood Education (ECE) Support Coordinator will be responsible for supporting new and continuing students within the ECE Program to complete coursework. Using a multi-layered approach, the ECE Support Coordinator will plan, organize, and lead various actions that increase credit attainment, persistence, and completion. This individual will have a working knowledge of campus processes and will be able to connect students to other offices, resources, and information and will develop relationships within IVCC. The ECE Support Coordinator will work within the Early Childhood Access Consortium for Equity (ECACE) framework and collaborate with external navigators to best support students. Additionally, the ECE Support Coordinator will have a working knowledge of IVCC's Early Childhood Education Program and Gateways credentials to effectively advise students toward their goals.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in child development, early childhood education or equivalent, such as IL Gateways Credential Level 5, or related field; minimum of three years' experience in teaching children under age 5 in preschool or childcare programs or equivalency; knowledge of Illinois Gateways Credentials, Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards, Illinois DCFS Licensing Standards; experience working with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. Experience working with adult students and providing supports (academic, social, personal, etc.) to increase retention; Master's degree in child development, early childhood education or equivalent; experience in higher education at the community college level preferred.
