    Description:  Administrative Assistant to Truck Driver Training Program, Part-Time

    Reports To:  Truck Driver Training Program Coordinator

    Salary:  Level 6, Non-exempt, $11.95 to $15.92 per hour

    Hours:  Up to 29 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; some evenings possible

    Position Summary:   Under general supervision of the coordinator of truck driver training, the administrative assistant supports the coordinator and is responsible for performing clerical duties such as organizing, coordinating, and reporting activities as they relate to the day-to-day functions of the Truck Driver Training Program.  The staff member is responsible for providing quality customer service to community, students and instructors.

    Qualifications:  Associate's Degree in Office Professional or related area with one to two years of proven experience OR four years of proven experience required; must be experienced in computer use including MS Office, e-mail and Internet; ability to work cooperatively with students, administration, faculty, staff; one to  two years of clerical experience including the performance of clerical and secretarial duties requiring discretion and independent judgment concerning selection and evaluation of procedures to be employed; ability to take and prepare meeting minutes required.  Ability to handle multiple details, organize and prioritize work; strong written and verbal communications skills including appropriate use of grammar and spelling; and demonstrated strong telephone and customer service skills preferred.
