    Job Description
    Academic Support Technologist (Part-Time, Non-exempt, Level 7)Play an integral role in carrying out functions of the Student Help Desk by assisting students in the acquisition and development of the technical skills required in an information rich society.  Assist students in an open lab setting with a variety of discipline specific software, common productivity software, web-based educational resources, administrative software, and electronic communications technologies; participate in the coordination of workshops, orientation activities, and special events; provide one-on-one and group instruction to students, in-person, online, or via telephone; and guide students in the selection of appropriate technology to achieve intended outcome for course-related projects. This is a 12-month position, Monday through Friday, 20-29 hours per week, with evening shifts to help staff the Student Help Desk hours of 8am to 7pm.
    Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in educational technology, library science, or an academic discipline–OR–Associate’s Degree plus 4 years of experience working in an academic support role; experience in the application of technology to instructional design; teaching or training experience; and ability to learn independently and work student-centered schedule, including some evening hours.
