Woof! Huskies to deliver Santa to Peru Mall, kicking off the holiday season PERU, IL. Nov. 7 --- I can trace my family tree back to Siberia. My favorite movies are “Balto” and “Snow Dogs.” Yeah, I know; I have one brown eye and one blue one. My pet peeves are people who call me a malamute; my kind can outrun those dudes any day. I’m proud, I’m fast and I’m a h-u-s-k-y. But enough about me. The man of the hour is Santa Claus whom my buddies and I will chauffer to Peru Mall at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18. We’ll be the ones pulling his sled and barking. Santa will be the guy wearing the XL red suit. We’ll arrive at the Sears wing and travel through the mall to Santa’s winter wonderland home, located in center court, where children of all ages can sit on the jolly man’s knee and whisper gift wishes. Refreshments (while supplies last), courtesy of Peru Mall, will be available after Santa has settled into his holiday home in center court. While Santa greets the kids, friendly huskies will issue free kisses. In return, the majestic pooches welcome back scratches. Kids and huskies make a great holiday picture so lots of selfies are encouraged. All children visiting Santa throughout the season will receive a Winter Wonderland coloring book. While visiting Santa is free, digital photography packages are available and parents can view photos immediately.
