Lunch With Leaders

La Salle County Board member Alexandria Braboy will offer guidance on successful grant writing. (The secret: all you need is a dream, a desire to positively change the world and a plan).  She will explain how everyone is able to achieve their dream for their community, business and nonprofit organization. 
 
Braboy has written over 35 successful grant applications, totaling over $50 million from IDOT, IHDA, IEPA, IDNR, and DCEO for the local six-county region in North Central Illinois. These projects span water and wastewater infrastructure, sidewalk and bridge improvements, early childhood programs, library development, downtown revitalization, tourism initiatives and more.
 
She believes that sharing accurate, timely and unbiased information gives people the tools to live the life they want. “Our community is stronger when we share our strengths, struggles and successes with each other,” she said. .
