DESCRIPTION:PERU\, IL   A dog and sleigh escort for the jolly old man himself\, Santa Claus\, holiday stories\, crafts and entertainment will kick off the holiday season beginning at 11 a.m.\, Saturday\, Nov. 19 at Peru Mall.\n\n          Santa will arrive in the shopping center's Sears wing on a sleigh pulled by four white Siberian huskies from the Adopt A Husky organization.  He'll make his way to his winter wonderland set\, located in center court\, where children of all ages can sit on the jolly man's knee and whisper gift wishes.  \n\nYoungsters visiting Santa during his arrival Saturday\, Nov. 19 will receive cookies and hot chocolate while care givers can refresh with coffee or water near Kay Jewelers in the Sears wing.\n\nAll children visiting Santa throughout the season will receive a floatable reindeer toy.\n\n  While visiting Santa is free\, state-of-the-art digital photography packages are available\, and parents can view photos immediately. Assorted photography packages are also available to give as holiday gifts for family and friends.  \n\nAfter visiting Santa\, children can join in holiday storytelling\, crafts and entertainment from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. near Kay Jewelers in the Sears wing\, courtesy of the Kiwanis Club of LaSalle-Peru.  Mrs. Claus will regale youngsters with favorite holiday stories and local dancers will perform scenes from The Nutcracker and Polar Bear Express.  All children participating will receive a free book and holiday memento courtesy of the Kiwanis Club. \n\nAdopt A Husky is a Siberian husky rescue organization serving the Midwest and the Pacific Northwest.  Rescued dogs are sheltered in a network of foster homes in the various states until they are adopted.
