DESCRIPTION:Benefits to Government Contracting! \n\n	Midwest Manufacturers 2013 Roundtable Series \n\n	Government Contracting \n\n	Is your business a good fit to work with government contracts? \n\n	The government engages in billions of dollars of contracts with private industry each year. During this session\, you will learn what the government looks for in a business\; what types of services and/or products they buy\; and\, the potential for your company to engage in contracting with federal\, state\, city\, county and/or sub-contracting with a large government prime contractor. \n\n	What You Will Learn: \n\n	What does the Government purchase \n\n	How to find government contracts \n\n	How to register for contracting opportunities \n\n	Learn how to discover if your company could be ready for government contracting business \n\n	Where to go for help \n\n	Speaker: Vicky Miller\,\n\n	C.B.S/Director IL PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center) is the advocate for small business in the North West Region of Illinois to help businesses learn how to engage in government contracting opportunities. She is a business leader who has received numerous awards for her service to economic growth in her region. She has developed many training session and learning materials for business to learn how to be more successful in government contracting. She has written books on business development\, Internet Business\, Disaster Preparedness and has been a national speaker for government contracting conferences. She enjoys community service and serves on several boards. She has owned multiple businesses and her business friends call her a "serial entrepreneur". She started the first SB Midwest Government Contracting Symposium that is a large annual event held in the Quad Cities each year for the last 7 years. While serving in this office as Director IL PTAC @ BHC she has been able to advocate over $885 million in contracts for her businesses which has helped create over 637 new jobs and retained over 8\,500 jobs in Illinois.
