DESCRIPTION:Connecting With Others\n\nJohn is the President and General Manager of Starved Rock Media. He grew up on a farm near Jacksonville IL and spent many nights in his room listening to the radio. He began DJ'ing with a boombox on the school bus and started broadcasting morning announcements in high school. Over 3 decades ago\, John was hired for commercial production and to host the 99.3 WAJK morning show. In the 30 years since\, he's been behind the microphone for countless shows\, appeared at hundreds of remote broadcasts\, hosted many events and done just about everything you can do in and on the radio. In 2019 John and long-time LaSalle County Broadcasting chief engineer Steve Vogler\, formed Starved Rock Media to purchase WAJK\, WLPO and 96.5 the Wolf and keep the stations local. John will talk about story-telling\, connecting with others and the secret of radio's continued viability.
